Seasons can affect our moods, our mental wellbeing, our stress levels and our skin, especially Winter. In todays’ busy world of family and/or work we tend to put ourselves and our needs at the bottom of a very long list.
Winters’ harsh environment causes damage to our skin, due to humidity levels dropping, and winter fires and heat pumps drying the air too. Also when the air outside is cold and dry, water in our skin evaporates quicker thus making it feel dry & tight, look dull & flaky, and which often causes it to become itchy.
Fine lines may also look more noticeable, uneven pigmentation can stand out, foundation doesn’t apply as smoothly, and after applying makeup the end result tends to look blotchy. Not the look you were going for as you race out the door in the morning. Google ‘how to avoid dry skin’ and the advice is the same. We know it, we should do it, but do we?
